Foam Rolling & Kneeling Hip Flexor Stretches

Video Transcript Hi, I'm Dr. Donald A. Ozello. Today, I'm going to be discussing foam rolling and kneeling stretches for the hip flexors. The hip flexors are very important muscles in running. Foam rolling helps to break up muscle tension and a kneeling stretch helps to increase flexibility in the hip flexors. Foam rolling the hip flexors is done in a prone position, laying on top of the foam roller and slowly sliding your entire thigh over the foam roller. The kneeling stretch for the hip flexors is done with one leg forward, the spine straight and stretching the back leg. You can do this stretch for 20 to 60 seconds, holding a slight stretch that is comfortable to be very effective.
